Course Cost is $175.
Optional Student Kit is $50-ish.
This package includes the NAUI Open Water Textbook and Workbook, Scuba Diver Video, Dive Tables,
and Dive Log all in a nifty carrying pack.
What do I get for $175? You mean besides some of the best
and most comprehensive SCUBA training available anywhere in the world?
OK, here's the deal. We provide (read LEND, NOT give) you with ALL
of the SCUBA equipment (Tanks, Regulator, BCD, and
weight system), including ALL of the air you can suck down during the
course.
No, this cost DOES NOT cover the Ocean Experience (but
we will cut you a good deal). What else do I need? You need to buy
(beg, borrow, or steal) SNORKELING Equipment: Mask, Snorkel and
Fins. If you get cold easily, you might consider acquiring a wet
suit for the check out dives (and maybe the Ocean Experience).
I'm signed up already and want to pay for class...
All sessions are
held Mickey's Retreat (Little Lake Bryan).
Weeknight classes run from about 6:30 to 10
PM. Weekend classes (and the possible weekday class) will begin at
8:00 AM.
The course consists
of 5 classroom sessions and 5 pool sessions (held one each per
week). You will then do (at least) 5 training dives, normally the
weekend after your last pool session. One final session (hopefully)
will be held for the academic tests.
Check out dives are done at "beautiful" Lake Denton in
Avon Park (an hour and a piece down US 27). We'll meet at Mickey-D's
(Lake Buena Vista) a little after 6AM (yeah, it's early), and convoy
south. We'll regroup at the Avon Park BK, make a last Pit Stop,
change into our swim suits (if needed) and headout for the FUN.
When possible, check out dives will be ONLY one weekend. For those classes with more than
about 12-14 students, the class may be split and check out dives will be
conducted over two weekends.
